                                                        Madame Motley’s Rhapsody

It was ten years after Madame Motley’s disappearance that the boss sold the ranch. During that time we were busy with wind towers, geology expeditions, deer hunting and general ranch construction. When the boss finally found someone that agreed to his price, the buyer also had stipulations.  The most difficult stipulations was, you had to have all your possessions moved and be gone in two weeks.   The boss said , “Why”..?????

The buyer said, “Do You want that 10 Million……????”   The boss said, “Can we do it Mike” ?????   

We decided we would get busy and and give him all we couldn’t move in two weeks.  We got busy and shipped everything on the one hundred plus thousand acres. Including equipment, personal belongings, livestock, all livestock except Madame Motley, which we haven’t seen hide nor hair of, dead or alive.   I just knew some form of the Madame would show up……….. Everyone knew the story of Madame and were excited to find any info of the whereabouts of the Madame.  

I still look up in the hills and along the highway every time I pass that old home place.
